Making a nomination for the Yidan Prize

Who’s shaping our future through education?

We want to hear about them. Nominations for the 2023 Yidan Prize are now open and will close on 31 March 2023, 12 noon Hong Kong time (GMT+8).

Nominator
As a nominator, you need to be a ‘credible witness’ to the nominee or nominees’ impact by having a thorough understanding of their work.

You can nominate an individual, a team of up to three members, or even yourself.

If you’re nominating someone else or a team, you’ll need at least two and up to five recommendation letters. If you are nominating yourself, you’ll need at least three recommendation letters.

Nominating for the 2023 Yidan Prize

We welcome all nominations. You don’t need to be invited to submit nominations for either the Education Research or Education Development prize.

You cannot make a nomination (or support one) if:

  • you’d like to recognize your immediate family member(s)
  • you’d like to recognize—or you are—one of our current board directors, or on our current Judging or Advisory Committees
  • you’d like to recognize someone posthumously*.

*In the sad event that an individual nominee dies during the judging process, we’ll withdraw their nomination. If they were part of a team, we’ll still consider the rest of the team’s nomination.

Download our nomination checklist (available in English, French/Français, Portuguese/Português, Simplified Chinese/简体中文, and Spanish/Español). You’ll need to submit your nomination in English.

If you’ve never used our platform, here’s what to expect:

  • Once you’ve created an account, we’ll send you a confirmation email. Please open this when it arrives—you’ll need to click onto the link to activate your account.
  • Once that’s done, you can start your nomination straight away. You can complete the form in any order, and come back to edit as often as you like before submitting. Save as you go, so you don’t risk losing any work.
  • After submission, you can still make changes if you need to—our judges don’t look at anything until after the deadline.

If you’re resubmitting a nomination:

  • We have updated our system. If you made a nomination in 2020 or later, you can easily edit and resubmit your nomination.
