Professor Pauline Rose is Professor of International Education at the University of Cambridge, where she is Director of the Research for Equitable Access and Learning (REAL) Centre in the Faculty of Education. Between 2015–2018, she was appointed as Senior Research Fellow to the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development. Prior to joining Cambridge, Professor Rose was Director of UNESCO’s Education for All Global Monitoring Report. In 2022, Professor Rose was awarded an OBE for her services to girls’ education internationally.
Professor Rose is author of numerous publications on issues that examine educational policy and practice, including in relation to inequality, financing and governance, and the role of international aid.
She has collaborated on large research programs with teams in sub‐Saharan Africa and South Asia examining these issues. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with national governments, international aid donors and non-governmental organizations to provide evidence-based policy advice on a wide range of issues aimed at fulfilling commitments to quality and inclusive education for all.
