Yidan Prize has opened nominations for its 2024 award. The world’s biggest education prize, it champions changemakers in education and awards prizes each year in two areas—education research and education development. Laureates of each prize receive a total of HK$30 million (approximately US$3.8 million), split equally between a cash prize and a project fund to help them scale up their work.

“I personally have found the project fund to be vital regarding my ability to influence education outcomes,” says Usha Goswami, our 2019 Yidan Prize for Education Research Laureate and Professor of Cognitive Developmental Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge.

She adds that the Yidan Prize is an opportunity for practitioners and researchers to increase the visibility of their work.

The 2023 Yidan Prize was awarded to Arizona State University Professor Michelene Chi, for education research, and Shai Reshef, Founder and President of University of the People, for education development.
