Leading for dynamic learning systems

With shifts in the way we think about school design and the building of ecosystems that support learners in a multitude of ways, we also need to think anew about leadership. This session will focus on how building and systems leaders can design organizations that empower and inspire both learners and educators.

The session will be followed by small group discussions to explore what the possibilities are for leaders in dynamic learning systems, and what leadership looks like when learning environments are learner-centered.

Adopting learner-centered practices

Our education system has been built on average, but in fact, average is a statistical abstraction. For the next generations, we need to build an education system built on variance. This panel will delve into the need to develop educational practices and build learning environments that are responsive to the personal, social and cultural experiences of learners.

After the panel, small group discussions will discuss what the possibilities are for our education systems if they are built for variance and with a learner-centered mindset.
